Traditional Greeting / Farewell

The traditional greeting is initiated by saying “May peace be with you.” The person receiving the greeting replies “and with your card decks.”

Sign of the One

The Sign of the One is performed by touching the middle finger to the middle of the forehead, followed by touching the middle of the chest, forming a one. It can optionally be performed before starting the first round of Thieves’ Uno.

Blessing

A blessing is performed by straightening your arm and putting your hand about eye level in front of you, then moving your arm in a straight motion down to about the chest area, forming a one. Blessings are normally given to a deck in order for it to be consecrated to the Thieves’ Uno game.

Disclaimer - all symbolism within the Band of Thieves' Uno carries no religious or spiritual significance. They are performed solely out of commitment to the joke.
